Jeanise Bernard
Jeanise Bernard has dedicated her life to serving others through faith, pro-life ministry, and compassionate outreach to women and families in need. For more than a decade, she has actively served in the Cursillo movement, sponsoring 25 women and guiding them in their spiritual growth. She has volunteered with the Community of Jesus Crucified, preparing meals weekly at the St. Theresa Center and for elderly and homebound individuals in the community. Jeanise has also provided disaster relief by cooking for hurricane victims, first responders, and organizations such as the Cajun Navy during times of crisis. In 2021, she opened Becky’s Healing House, a transitional home for homeless women and children, where she has helped more than 70 women and 39 children find safety and stability. Through mentorship, prayer, transportation, and continued support, she remains a source of encouragement for many mothers even after they leave the home. A devoted pro-life advocate, Jeanise prayed outside the Delta abortion clinic in Baton Rouge as often as possible for nearly 20 years before they closed. She remains active in her Catholic faith as a Eucharistic minister and lector at St. Bernard Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Chapel while continuing to serve her community with humility, generosity, and love.

Patrick and Christine Dauterive
Patrick and Christine Dauterive have dedicated their lives to serving others through faithful parish involvement and compassionate pro-life ministry. Since 2022, Patrick has served as Treasurer and Finance Committee member for The Mother Teresa Foundation, helping support the growth and expansion of The Unexpected Pregnancy Center. Christine has volunteered as a Client Advocate and Receptionist at the center, offering encouragement and support to women facing unexpected pregnancies. Through compassionate conversations and guidance, she has helped mothers choose life even before their first appointment. Together, they actively support Catholic outreach ministries that provide aid, housing, education, food, and clean water to vulnerable communities around the world. At Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in New Iberia, both serve faithfully as lectors and Eucharistic ministers while also contributing through parish leadership, retreats, catechism, and social service ministries. Their commitment to the dignity of life extends into everyday acts of prayer, encouragement, and practical support for families in need. Through their humble and consistent service, Patrick and Christine demonstrate how small acts of faith and compassion can make a profound and life-changing difference.

Mike and Anne Guilbeaux
Mike and Anne Guilbeaux have dedicated their lives to promoting the dignity of human life through prayer, education, and active pro-life ministry. For the past 14 years, they have led groups of students and parents to the National March for Life in Washington, D.C., inspiring young people to advocate for the unborn. Through fundraisers and community support, they have worked tirelessly to promote awareness and participation in pro-life causes. They are active members of Louisiana Right to Life and regularly support parish Respect Life Month activities. In their parish, St. Mary Magdalen in Abbeville, Mike and Anne have distributed Magnificats, pro-life rosaries, and prayer cards to encourage faith and a culture of life. Their ministry has included pilgrimages with students, and family members to holy sites and pro-life events across the country. In 2005, they joined the Prayer Blanket Ministry through the Diocese of Lafayette, providing handmade blankets and spiritual comfort from the womb through natural death. Their advocacy is deeply personal, inspired by the loss of their stillborn son, their three daughters who were born premature and their belief that every human life is a precious gift from God.

Dr. F. Michael, Jr. (posthumously) and Sandy Hindelang
Dr. Michael Hindelang, Jr. and Mrs. Sandy Hindelang dedicated their lives to faith, family, medicine, and the pro-life movement in Acadiana and across Louisiana. Married for 56 years until Mike’s passing in 2025, they raised four children and built a legacy centered on Catholic family life and service. As a gynecologist and Navy Veteran, Dr. Hindelang, Jr. experienced a profound conversion that led him to stop prescribing birth control and performing sterilizations, a decision that cost him half of his medical practice, but doing so gave him a feeling of peace. He later served as Medical Director for A Pregnancy Center and Clinic, co-founded Women and Children’s Hospital in Lafayette, and participated in medical missions to Mexico providing free care. Sandy dedicated decades to pro-life advocacy through organizations including Acadiana Right to Life Committee and the Louisiana Republican Central Committee. She also helped establish parish pro-life ministries across the Diocese of Lafayette that continue today. Together, Mike and Sandy served on the board of the DesOrmeaux Foundation, organized educational campaigns, legislative advocacy efforts, and pro-life initiatives throughout Louisiana. Dr. Hindelang, Jr. received the 2011 FRIST Humanitarian Award for his compassionate care and belief that “No matter how many babies (he) delivered, each baby is special.”
